Happy 2018!

STCW is glad to inform you that one of the priority programs of MARINA for 2018 is the automation/ digitization  for the online application of COP, COC, COE and MARINA Professional ID. In line with this, the Seafarers Certificate System (SCS) was developed and around 176,000 seafarers are registered in the system. At present, all officers are required to have a SCS account before they are allowed to take the theoretical examination. One of the features of the SCS account is that all seafarers are required to upload their STCW related documents. Thus, MARINA will not be requiring photocopies. 

The immediate objective of the SCS is the online evaluation of the seafarers documents which will result to a more efficient, credible and faster processing of certificates and ID. The online appointment will also be introduced by February 19, 2018.  By 2nd quarter of the year, seafarers can apply online using their SCS account.  

 In line with this, we are requesting all manning agencies to help MARINA disseminate this information to the seafarers and to encourage them to register online. The registration is free. This is the link to the SCS account  http://stcw.marina.gov.ph/scsv2.0/
