Ventis maritime Corporation has been Certified by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, Japan as complying with regulation 1.4 of MLC, 2006 (Maritime Labour Convention, 2006) in its selection and deployment of Filipino seafarers to man “K” Line ships. It was among the first three manning agencies to be MLC, 2006 certified ClassNK. The other two are NYK-Fil and Magsaysay.

The attention ceremony was held at Class NK Head Quarter in Tokyo Japan on January 23, 2012 with the attendance of ClassNK Vice President Koichi Fujiwara, “K” Line Managing Executive Officer Captain Masami Sasaki and “K”Line Ship Management CO., Ltd.’s President Satoru Kuboshima, who happens to be board members of Ventis Maritime Corporation. Other manning companies will be seeking their MLC, 2006 certification as well with third party accreditation organization to show their compliance with MLC, 2006. The Maritime Lobour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006), adopted by the International Labor Organization or ILO, sets out seafarers’ right to decent conditions of work on board, which includes a wide range of subjects such as employment, work and rest hours, accomodation, welfare, food, medical, etc.
