Whenever a Ventis-manned ship visits the Philippines shores, especially Manila, it is a cause for joy the crewmember’s family because they will have the opportunity to go on board and even for a brief moment be reunited with their father or husband who’s on board. The Ventis’ staff likewise take the opportunity on board, – the Fleet Managers, to talk to the crew and find how they are doing and the rest of the staff, especially those who hasn’t been on board a ship yet, to see up close how a ship looks like and how it feels to be on board one.

For this year alone, four (4) ships visited Manila.

1. MV ” Western Highway” – Apr. 26, 2011

The ship visited Batangas port and Manila South Harbor to unload cars, among which were the very popular Toyota Fortuners. Those who went on board included Capt. A.K. Dator Fleet Mgr 2 O.D. Irinco, Fin. Managers S.B. Liu, Welfare Officer C.T. Bacolod and L/O 3 F.D. Rodis. They were met on board by 2/O M. Baje and 1/E A. Claridad.

2. MV “Cooper River Br.” – May 28, 2011

MV “Cooper River Bridge” stayed approximately three hours in port only at the busy M.I.C.T. in Manila North Harbor. It discharged container vans. Those who went on board when the ship visited Manila were Flt Mgr 1 R.R. Morales, Fin. Mgr. S. B. Liu Welfare Asst. J. Po and Welfare Officer C.T. Bacolod. They were met on board by Capt. O. Nakata and C/O R. Tabuena.

3. MV “Manhattan Br.” – June 6, 2011

The ship docked at the Manila North Harbor onJune 6, 2011 to load and unload cargoes. The staff who went on board were Flt Mgr 1 R.R. Morales, Docs Mgr R. Labao and Fin. Mgr S.B. Liu. They were met by Capt. Ajay Arum Sawarkar, C/O Sautosh Bhagwan and 2/O Leric Marte.

4. MV “Triton Highway” – Mar. 30, 2011

MV “Triton Highway” docked at the M.I.C.T. in Manila North Harbor on Mar. 30, 2011 to unload cargoes. Ventis and TNKC Staff went on board and met the ship’s officers, Capt. S. Amagosaki, C/E A. Iseiki and 1/E H. Tsuji. The visitors from TNKC included Mr. K. Ikeno and Mr. J. Ragos of TNKC Manila and from Ventis, Capt. W.D. Garcia,Flt. Mgr 2, O.D. Irinco and Fin. Mgr. S.B. Liu.
