The Crew of M.V. “Western Highway” held a bingo party last April 09, 2011, while navigating along the craggy coastline of Palawan Islands. It was a wonderful experience as everyone armed their lucky cards on the table and eyed for the major prizes.
The melee and the excitement never ceased as the number started to roll that brought suspense and thrill to the eager players who are hungry to win. All eyes widen, kindles and flinch, anticipating the thunderous voices that will shout “Bingo” and claim the major prizes.
When the raucous atmosphere dwindled and the moment of truth came to herald the fortunate souls who enthusiastically stood proud of winning the valued prize at the stake and be forever glorious to participate in this entertaining event could have wondered how their small prayers were answered. There were full of wild hilarity and jovial naughtiness among the audience who wanted to share the moment of ecstasy from among those who went and proved to be lucky guys of the day.
The lucky seafarer are O/S Brian Patrick Mamerto who won the converted Toshiba Laptop computer. Olr Emmanuel Rarabgol also shared the moment by winning the second prize, a JVC Video Cam Recorder. 2/O Medardo Baje Jr. won the Nikkon Digital Camera for the third prize. A/B Nante being won a Casio Digital Camera for the fourth prize. The last but not the least, Bsn Erwin Abello won the 500 gigabyte External Hard Drive unit for the fifth prize.
Every body was in a joyful mood as consolation prize were given to those who did not win the major prizes. After the Bingo fun, a Yakiniku Party followed where the crew had a chance to share an evening of sumptuous meal and drinks. The evening was highlighted by singing and dancing where the eager participants showed their talents and craziness on the floor. Life will never be the same again without the happy moments and the impulse to crave for satisfaction and enjoyment is something worth striving for.
The Bingo Party was organized by theĀ Officers and Crew of M.V. Western Highway as thanksgiving for the fair wind and successful voyage that they encountered throughout the long days and nights of busy ports and demanding challenges of seafaring life.
